I am helping someone setup a 4 projector system (Ricoh WX4141n). They have a NVIDIA Quardro K5000 on their hands but that is about all they got in terms of resources. Do you know of any affordable edge blending and web cam calibrating software to blend these 4 projectors together? Edge blending software is ahead of curve. ISE 2014 saw the introduction of Panasonic’s ET-CUK10 software which allows automatic edge blending, colour.

Hi! So, just as the title states. Im looking for a projector that will do at least 1920x1080, stereoscopic 3D, and have internal edge blending and warping capabilities. It needs to be at least 2500 lumens, ideally closer to 5k.
The epson G6900WU looks like it would work great, but wont do active 3D.
Budget is flexible, ideally under 10k. But open to ideas!
Thanks!

The Epson 6900wu will do passive 3d with 2 projectors. While the Epson does do warping and edge-blending, the warping is limited and has a limit. So if your curve is really big then it may not fit.
The Sony fh36 will not do 3d unless you set up a passive system with a external split-er.
I believe the epson has internal 3d processing.

Yeah, it needs to be active 3D, not interested in passive. The warping isnt crazy, its going to be part of a 3 projector blend on a curved screen. Total about 180' wide.

Then your only way is to by a external warp box such as the geobox 501 or a calibre warp

How well do those deal with passing HDCP? The current setup is using external warping boxes, and is having HDCP issues while playing a bluray..

I have only used FPS systems warp box and had no problems with it on HDMI. the other 2 should deal with it just fine, but I have not used them. The other way but is more expensive is going with projection design or digital projection. They have warping capabilities.

The Panasonic PT-RZ470 looks fairly close, but not sure it does warping (they state it supports edge blending and color matching), is claimed 3500lm, active 3D, single chip dlp with led-laser illumination and within your price constraint. might call them to see if it supports warping (doubt it, though).

I don't think the Panasonic will edge blend in 3D. I believe it disables edge blending when it gets a 3D source.

Remember if you want a multi-projector, edge blended, setup with active 3D, then all of the projectors would need to have near perfect frame-level synchronized such that the switching between the display of right and left images occur a the same time. Otherwise the active 3D glasses would not be able to correctly sync up and correctly separate the right from the left images. I don't recall seeing that capability built into the projectors. Also when I was at Infocomm last summer several manufacturers, including Panasonic, were demo'ing edge blended, multi-projector setups, but all were in 2D. I don't recall anyone talking about such a setup for 3D.
